I’ve just had the pleasure of watching the latest episode of Arrow, ‘Vendetta’.
This week once again focused on the relationship between Oliver and Helena. Oliver attempts to teach her control, and they perform a hit together on a member of her father’s crime organisation (who also happens to be in Oliver’s book). They do it without killing anyone, and the man is locked up. Helena admits that it felt good. However, things go disastrously when she and Oliver inadvertently double-date with Tommy and Laurel. Both couples end up arguing, and whilst Tommy and Laurel make up, Helena goes and attacks a Triad crime boss and makes it look like her father did it.
The rest of the man’s team, led by the superb Chine White, start taking out Helena’s father’s men. It takes Oliver to stop him from dying by her hand, until he comes face to face with Helena. Helena reveals it’s her that’s stopping him for revenge, but Oliver prevents her from killing him. Her father picks up Helena’s crossbow and shoots her, so Oliver knocks him out to be arrested, and saves Helena. Helena leaves, but Oliver tells Diggle that he thinks he’ll see her again. In other news, Walter is getting closer to answers about the shipwreck, as he’s found a copy of the list; and Tommy finally asks Oliver for a job, which he gladly gives him.
It was a brilliant episode, with plenty of action, emotion, and character development to keep everyone happy. I’m looking forward to seeing how the storylines with Walter, Tommy and Tommy’s father turn out, and hopefully we’ll learn more in the coming episodes.
