Chad Michael Collins called into Variety Radio Online to talk to Emily about his upcoming movie “Sniper: Ghost Shooter”.
Collins will reprise his franchise-starring role of ‘Staff Sgt Brandon Beckett’, the infantry Marine turned elite sniper and son of original franchise star Tom Berenger’s ‘Master Gunnery Sgt Thomas Beckett’. GHOST SHOOTER sees him star opposite familiar faces Billy Zane and Dennis Haysbert as they face new enemies halfway around the globe as described in the official Sony synopsis:
Elite snipers Brandon Beckett (Chad Michael Collins) and Richard Miller (Billy Zane) are fighting extremists in the Middle East when The Colonel (Dennis Haysbert) gives them a new mission: to protect a gas pipeline stretching from the Republic of Georgia to Western Europe from terrorists eager to make a political statement. But when skirmishes with the enemy lead to U.S. snipers being killed by a ghost shooter who locks into their exact location, a security breach is suspected. Fingers are pointed and battle lines are drawn, all leading up to an explosive climax! (Click here for the official theatrical trailer from Sony Pictures)
GHOST SHOOTER was shot in and around Bulgaria and Istanbul, Turkey, and directed by Don Michael Paul. This marks the third SNIPER franchise film Collins has starred in, and reteams him with Paul after 2014’s SNIPER: LEGACY starring Collins, Berenger and Haysbert. The film will be released Video-on-Demand and on DVD/Blu-ray formats, and for television internationally.
Although best-known for being the face of the SNIPER films – he also starred in 2011’s SNIPER: RELOADED, a reboot of the classic Berenger franchise – Collins has starred in dozens of other projects. This fall, he will be seen in a recurring role in the new 10-episode digital horror series Freakish for Hulu, which was originally reported by TheWrap.com here.
In Freakish, Collins will play a mysterious character with an agenda that crosses paths with a group of trapped small-town high school students in the series that centers on the teens as they fight for survival when predatory mutant freaks take over after a meltdown at the local chemical plant. Leo Howard, Liza Koshy, Adam Hicks, Aislinn Paul, Tyler Chase, Meghan Rienks, Melvin Gregg and Hayes Grier star in the Hulu / AwesomenessTV production.
Collins recently wrapped the starring lead role in the independent action-horror film HOWLERS with Sean Patrick Flanery, for which entertainment news site JoBlo.com offered an exclusive first look. Collins starred as ‘Colt’, a werewolf slayer from the old West who is mysteriously transported to modern times to stop a band of bloodthirsty lycanthropes from terrorizing a small town. It is slated for a 2017 release.
Collins’ other recent credits include NCIS: New Orleans, Once Upon a Time, Bones, 2 Broke Girls, Castle, CSI: Cyber, and Blue Bloods. He also starred in the lead role of the Sony Pictures film COMPANY OF HEROES, a WWII action film adapted from a popular videogame that co-starred Tom Sizemore, Neal McDonough and Vinnie Jones.
