The Lion King (2019)

The first movie that I can remember going to see in theaters was the original animated ” the lion king”. So with that said I can say that I would be more critical to this movie than I would be with most. But! I was pleasantly surprised with how amazing of a job that Disney did. I’m giving this a solid 9/10. With a 9/10 on rematch value. 

Now for the nitty gritty details for this movie. From the very first “naaaaaaaaaaaa” at the beginning i knew I was going to be blasted with nostalgia. They did make a bunch of changes and additions that actually build on the original story. While I do miss Jeremy Irons voicing Scar. The voice actor did a phenomenal job, as well as the other actors. There was also added background for Mufasa, Scar and Sarabi which made the story kind of flow a little better. The cgi was pristine! My only complaint was that at the end of the movie when Simba takes up “the throne” after defeating Scar, you can’t really tell the lionesses apart. But besides that in all honesty, I wouldn’t change a single thing about this movie. I fully intend to watch this over and over like I was 7 years old again.
