I went into this movie very skeptical, I’ve seen plenty of remakes and adaptations where the studio tried to hard to pander to the fans. This movie was the exception. Even though there are literally Pokemon everywhere in the movie, they managed to blend them into the background seamlessly and gave the world the movie is set in real life. Giving this movie a 7/10 on first viewing
So usually when I re-watch a movie, I don’t feel the same things I felt the first time I watched it. I’m just left with the “is this movie almost over yet?” feeling. But not this movie, I’ve probably went to see this movie at least 5 times. It has amazing re-watch value, and elements that grown-up as well as kids will love, and each time you watch this movie you might notice something else in the background that you missed before. If there are more of these movies made in the future, I really hope that they keep to this formula. Giving this a final 8.5/10
