The second to last episode of the season, and the team finally butts heads directly with the villain of the season.
The team ends up running into Danny again, and it is hear that our heroes find out where Mr. Nobody is keeping The Chief…the White Space. After a missed muscle flex by Flex (really, Cliff faked it?), the team is transported to this other dimension to find Niles.
It is here that the team is confronted with the opportunity to live their lives out from the point before their big incidents…Rita’s on-set accident, Larry’s test flight, Cliff’s car wreck, Jane’s experimentation. However, each decides that they have grown or wouldn’t be happy in the life they were in and leave the illusions to find themselves in the White Space.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Vic’s dad wakes up and they have a talk that mostly reveals more things that Silas has done to Vic for “his own good”. Silas is really not a good guy in this series. Maybe this is comic accurate, but it skews from what I’ve seen in other media incarnations of Cyborg and his family.
In the White Space, once the team regroups, you start to question how powerful Mr. Nobody really is, and if he is as scary as the season makes him out to be. Suffice to say, after a few twists……it’s time for the episode to end. There’s just time for one little cliffhanger reveal that I’m sure will impact the last episode.
The last three or four episodes have seemed to hit their stride in this series, but for me, it almost seems too little, too late. But, I’m still going to tune in to see the final episode of Doom Patrol.
