Arrow’s Stephen Amell took the time to answer a few questions from Variety Radio Online Host Anna and Michelle at Emerald City Con.
Stephen Amell was born on May 8, 1981 in Toronto Canada. He decided to pursue a career in acting when he was in his teens. His first role was that of “spinning instructor” in Queer as Folk (2000). He also had minor roles in Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001), 1-800-Missing (2003) and Tilt (2005). He had recurring roles in Beautiful People (2005) and Rent-a-Goalie (2006). His first on-scree role was that of a Detective in The Tracey Fragments (2007) which was followed by a small role in Closing the Ring (2007).
His first major role in a TV show was that of a werewolf in the CW Hit series, The Vampire Diaries (2009). This led to him getting recurring roles in Hung (2009), Private Practice (2007) and Heartland (2007). He was then called in to audition for another CW series, but this time in a lead role. He was then cast as the titular superhero, Green Arrow in the new hit series, Arrow (2012).
