So the last show ended with Rachel finding out she was pregnant with Pastor Hales baby and Caleb disappearing. The first few minutes of this show focuses on the sheriff trying to figure out what happened. He visits Bellamy, Caleb’s cell, and Elaine.
Ray still believes that Caleb isn’t really the same man they once knew as their dad. This time Elaine agrees. Bellamy meets Rachel asks asks questions about the returned. Maggie calls in a new doctor for help. A drunken Gary verbally attacks Sheriff at a bar.
The new doctor is introduced and seems to have a little “thing” for Maggie. He says the returned are clones from a different universe. There is a pattern in the longitude in which the returned appeared. He wants to start at the beginning and meet all of them starting with Jacob
Tom visits Rachel once again. She drops the bomb about her pregnancy. When Tom gets home, he tells his wife. She asks if she’s keeping it and Tom makes it clear that she’s not getting an abortion. Jeanine is a little jealous because for 3 years she tried to get pregnant and could not.
The new doctor whose name I still don’t know wants to take Jacob and his family to the National Institute of Health (NIH) facilities to run tests on Jacob to see if he can keep the returned from disappearing. Helen being the hypocrite that she is pretends to want to help Jeanine to get information from her.
Henry is afraid of losing Jacob again He and Lucille decide to go to Maryland, so NIH can run tests. Helen now knows where Rachel has been hiding and pays her a little visit. She tells Rachel to leave Tom alone, because she is affecting his marriage and his position with the church. She threatens Rachel saying she will tell the church, if she doesn’t leave.
When Tom doesn’t answer Rachel calls Bellamy and tells him about her convo with Helen. At church everyone is whispering and staring at Jacob. Many Pastor Hale decides to allow the members to ask questions. They were all about Caleb and Jacob, and how they want to get rid of the returned.
Helen opens her big mouth and tells Tom to tell the church what he’s been hiding. He says he has nothing to hide so Helen takes it upon herself to tell the whole church that Rachel is pregnant with Tom’s baby. At that moment he knew Jeanine had told her. They agree that Tom is no longer their pastor and leave the church.
Eric (the new doctor) tries to talk Maggie into moving to Bethesda. Back at home Tom tells Jeanine he feels betrayed. She also asks him if he’s still in love with Rachel, the fact that he didn’t give an answer lets her know that he is.
Henry decides to not go to NIH. A police officer arrives at Rachel’s hotel saying Sheriff Langston would like to see her at the station. He offers her a ride and Gary jumps in the backseat of the cop car. This is a set up, but what exactly is going to happen? They take Rachel to an abandoned house. We will have to wait until the next episode to see what happens.
