CHRISTOPHER EMERSON, whose prominence as a voice-over star has successfully translated to high-profile theatrical projects, has now added the top media franchise, “Resident Evil,” to his arsenal of starring roles playing one of two title characters, ‘Piers Nivans,’ in the just released “Resident Evil 6” (Capcom). Resident Evil, which first started as a survival horror video game, has become one of the most lucrative franchises to date, expanding to comic books, novels, and live –action feature films.
Combined with state-of-the-art technology in the newest game of the cult series, Emerson has truly become ‘Piers Nivans’ thanks to motion-capture technology. With this technology, “Resident Evil 6,” released in early October 2012 has logged over $180 million in sales in less than two months. This newest version has taken things one-step further adding performance capture technology, which records the face and fingers of the human actors to capture subtle expressions. “Working with director Eiichiro Sasaki was an amazing experience especially with his guidance in the intricacies of the most subtle twists of the head or angling of my eyes,” says Emerson.
Chris’ versatility is exemplified as producer-star of the acclaimed, award-winning short “Eaglewalk,” which recently won top honors in its category at Screamfest Los Angeles. The short film — about a wayward weekend with Bigfoot — has gained tremendous attention and will soon be turned into a full-length feature horror film. Click HERE for the interview
