I’ve just had the pleasure of watching the latest episode of Arrow, ‘An Innocent Man’.
This week we follow the story of an innocent man found guilty of killing his wife and sentenced to die. Oliver believes that he’s innocent, and seeks out help from Laurel (through his guise as Green Arrow). She agrees to help, and finds a name which she passes on to Oliver. Oliver aquires documents from the man, and hands them to Laurel, but it isn’t enough to free him. The real guilty party goes to the prison, where Laurel is meeting her client, in order to kill her, but Oliver finds out and heads to save her. He does just that, and in the process he nearly beats the man to death, only stopping when Laurel grabs him. Laurel speaks with her father afterwards, and agrees that Arrow is a dangerous man, before telling him he wasn’t wearing his hood this time, giving her father an idea.
As a side story, after coming round Diggle accuses Oliver of murder, and quits as his bodyguard, but doesn’t call the police. The new bodyguard has even more difficulty keeping up, and eventually quits. Oliver makes Diggle an offer to join him in his vigilante crusade, and he accepts just as Laurel’s father enters the Queen mansion and arrests Olvier in front of his entire family. Also, his step-father discovers that his wife has the Queen’s Gambit in storage, and grows suspicios. Oliver’s mother is also seen meeting with a well-dressed man who has connections to the list that Oliver’s father gave to him.
It was another very strong episode, with more fast-paced story development and great action sequences. The overall plot is moving along nicely, and I can’t wait to find out more, especially how Oliver will get out of being arrested.
