I’ve just had the pleasure of watching the latest episode of Nikita, ‘Innocence’.
This week saw Nikita and co tracking a former trainer from Division, Wade. After finding his safe house, they discover a young girl who he’s been keeping in the basement. Nikita tries to get through to the girl, and Michael finds a clue to her past, which eventually gets the girl to open up a little, giving away a clue to the plan, before she escapes Division. The team discover that Wade is trying to set right a mission that failed before, and dispatch a team consisting of Nikita, Michael and Alex to deal with it. Michael manages to take out Wade, with some help from a brilliantly hilarious (as ever) Birkhoff, and his amazing pop culture references (EXTERMINATE!), and Nikita manages to persuade the girl to come home.
The girl, named Liza, is given a cover story by Division, and Nikita and Alex take her home. They briefly discuss that Nikita had saved Alex before, and Nikita allows Alex to reunite Liza with her family, because she ‘got the last girl’. It was an emotional end to a brilliant episode. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for the rest of the season.
