This week we follow Oliver as he tries to help Laurel take down Marc Summers, a business man accused of murdering someone. After several attempts to stop Laurel, including China White attempting to kill her, Oliver manages to solve the problem by forcing Summers to confess (whilst recording it), and then handing it over to Laurel’s father (whilst also disarming him so he didn’t get shot). There was further development in the relationship between Oliver and his bodyguard, Diggle, after they saved each others lives when China tried to kill Laurel. The episode ended with 2 key scenes. One revealing that the boat was sabotaged (courtesy of his mother and a mysterious man), and another showing a flashback of Oliver burying his father on the island, and then getting attacked by a man in a hood, who shot him with an arrow (hence the lovely scar on his chest).
It was another strong episode, which further developed the overall plot of the series, as well as having a strong standalone plot of its own. I’m looking forward to seeing the further development of the characters, and their relationships, over the coming weeks.
